 Hello Family and Friends, 

     Please forgive my lack of updates. As mentioned briefly in my last post, the property is a legal entity known as Mission Restoration. Where typically I would have waited until I had a few more “To do’s” checked off my list, there is an opportunity arising that requires these things to be done when they were.

     I have been working with a gentleman since February of 2023. His project is a very extensive job that will require thousands of large tiles to be produced and shipped out of the country. In early 2023 two sample tiles were sent to the lead architect and to the building team. I am honored to know that my employer loved the sample so much that he has one hanging in his personal home. Due to some changes, a new architect was acquired for the job, and now we are starting fresh. New sample tiles will be produced here at the property and shipped overseas for approval. Once the strength, anchoring, and color are approved, I will be bringing in help to build the production set.

     I am overwhelmed by God’s faithfulness and power! If you aren’t living these moments day by day, I can see how it would be easy to miss the vast miracles He has done, but indeed, He has been working many miracles. I pray those following this journey check back from time to time so you can continue to see God working in seemingly impossible situations. He is so good! He is faithful. He does have purpose and desire for each and every one of us… Each and every one of us.

     This season of my life has taught me that if God wants it done, it will get done. There are still times I get discouraged & worn down, but God has been faithful in providing where all seemed hopeless or unattainable. I am honored to be in this place at this time. I very much look forward to the challenge and opportunity for many years ahead.

      I know these things all seem upside-down. Chicken before the egg. Cart before the horse… Being a single female business owner makes for an incredibly tight personal budget. I am still working on fixing the main water source to the house. I have found a solid, reputable company I will go through to have this work done. Not only is it needed so people can come stay on the property, but it will also be pivotal in the making of these tiles. God has been faithful in providing what I have needed when I need it, so I continue to save up towards the $2,830.00 estimate I was given. The project will need a large shed with electricity, running water, and all the appropriate permitting. Lots to be done and lots of areas to watch and see God move through!

     It is pretty cold here! I've been window-sealing and prepping the living areas as much as possible. The pets and I are still on the subfloor, which hopefully can be remedied before it gets too much cooler. So far, so good though! I have no complaints and am blessed to wake up to such peace and quiet... for now :)

I have some news! A Lancaster, Ohio friend has joined me for a short stay!! A designer and maker of many forms. From animation, drafting, modeling, product design, and packaging… Her skill set is very impressive! She is responsible for the majority of my family’s Christmas presents this year. Everyone loved them and the talent and time they knew it took her to create them from scratch. The picture is the one created for my son, Jack. It fits to a T! We have also been working to winterize the house. It is in the teens here right now. We use three space heaters to warm the common area and our rooms. Thankfully, the South doesn't get too much of this for too long :) It was wonderful to see some snow regardless of the temperature. The Cloak of Christianity

“It is like trying to save a drowning man…” So let’s say this Cloak represents and represents every denomination, every religious leader, every religious act and the expectations and religious laws therein. Imagine with me… A drowning man. The man fully dressed. Boots, jeans, his shirt and this Cloak of Christianity. He knows how to swim. He knows how to tread water, but the waters are too rough and he’s been exhausted from trying to stay afloat. Perhaps in this scenario there is an undertow starting to pull him down by the length and weight of the drenched Cloak. The very thing he was awarded when he gave his life to Christ. The very thing he was given by the church to keep him safe from the elements of the world. That man was taught and believes that this cloak is to keep him safe - and should never be taken off, but if he does not take it off the garments weighing him down, he will surely drown. Week 4 Update

     Saturday friends came to brainstorm and talk about the structure of the upcoming creative mission organization. From right to left we have, Amy Jo, Mary Ellen, John, and Nanna. They came from Columbia to help plan the next steps of a non profit, grant writing, and forming a board of directors. Mary Ellen, is a natural networking agent and is well connected in Columbia, SC. She has talked with people who are willing to come give their talents to help in these initial phases.       The idea is to free licensed counseling for each person that comes to stay on the property. So far people have an overwhelming willingness to give of this special gift. A licensed therapists from the Columbia area is willing to give one day of her week to come to the property and give free counseling sessions.
