Week 4 Update
Saturday friends came to brainstorm and talk about the structure of the upcoming creative mission organization. From right to left we have, Amy Jo, Mary Ellen, John, and Nanna. They came from Columbia to help plan the next steps of a non profit, grant writing, and forming a board of directors. Mary Ellen, is a natural networking agent and is well connected in Columbia, SC. She has talked with people who are willing to come give their talents to help in these initial phases.
The idea is to free licensed counseling for each person that comes to stay on the property. So far people have an overwhelming willingness to give of this special gift. A licensed therapists from the Columbia area is willing to give one day of her week to come to the property and give free counseling sessions. Another counselor I know is willing to give of his time via zoom sessions from Columbia. These types of services will be pivotal for the growth and restoration of those who come to rest, heal and learn. Their selflessness gift of time and talent encourages me greatly because I know how needed it will be for us here.
Mary Ellen and her husband John will meet with me this Thursday to spend a few hours forming further structure and and contacts to start to talk and work with in order to make a dent in the ground work. I'm excited for these next steps! This is to be a community built by the community - where people can see their talents being used to help others come to feel confidence and use within their own skillsets and passions.
I've been working on cleaning up the well house so we can get a new water tank and pump put in. I've learned a lot about my self living out here by myself the past three months. t doesn't matter if anyone is around - I still scream like a little girl when I encounter a spider. The clearing is nearly finished. My retired master electrician friend has offered to come out and measure the depth and help fit the well with the appropriate well and tank! With the research we've done this should be one of the cheaper fixes. Once the water is on, tested and usable we can really start getting things going.

This past Saturday myy friends and I were able to enjoy old brick grill that most likely was built near the time the home was built in the 1940's. In time I will find a special person to tile the outside of the old brick grill with a small Aztec tile I produce. I'll leave the inside of the grill the natural brick to not loose fully loose its original appearance.
This Sunday I will attend, God's Healing Springs Baptist Church, to thank the congregation and to tell them of the calling and vision I feel led to begin. I got to speak with the pastor of this church earlier this week. It is truly amazing how God works! This was his Grandmother's home! He told me he spent much of his time on this property and was excited to know it was going to be used to further the love of our Savior. Pastor Tobias, told me they had a community Bible Study each Thursday. After I got off the phone with him - completely amazed - I felt a little nostalgic. Many times during my youth I would walk across the street to what was the Methodist Camp Grounds of my home town in Ohio. There was a beautiful, peaceful place many didn't know existed, "Chapel In The Woods", tucked away within the grounds. I frequented the solace many times. I think people within our rural small community would enjoy and utilize a quiet, still, place in God's creation like that here. Perhaps this church congregation will join me in building such a place.
Thank you friends and family! It's a work in progress! ....Aren't we all?
Prayers and Blessings,
